IngredientQuery (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at ingredientquery.com and the ingredient research blog at ingredientlookup.com. We provide a free AI-powered ingredient scanner for food, cosmetic, and pet food labels.

2. Information We Collect
Label images you upload
When you scan a label, the image is sent to our AI processing pipeline. We do not permanently store your uploaded images after processing is complete. Images are used solely to extract and analyze the ingredient text.
Email address (optional)
If you subscribe to our newsletter or create an account, we collect your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Usage data
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data — pages visited, time on site, general geographic region, device type. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
Cookies
We use cookies for analytics (Google Analytics) and to remember your scan history locally. We do not use cookies for advertising targeting.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Google AdSense & Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on free-tier pages. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Ads are never shown during the active scan flow. We do not run ads for any brand or product that fails our own ingredient scanner.
5. Third-Party Services

6. Data Retention
Uploaded label images are deleted after your scan result is returned. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per Google's standard retention policy (26 months by default).
7. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your email address or any personal data we hold by emailing devin@ingredientquery.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
IngredientQuery is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
